The Truth of God and Our Lord Jesus Christ

Special Palestine Cry Blog articles: The Catholic Creed: The meaning of the Pasch of Christians.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY AND TRUTH AND LIFE - NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT BY HIM.

For as it was not possible that the man who had once for all been conquered, and who had been destroyed through disobedience, could reform himself, and obtain the prize of victory; and as it was also impossible that he could attain to salvation who had fallen under the power of sin,-the Son effected both these things, being the Word of God, descending from the Father, becoming incarnate, stooping low, even to death, and consummating the arranged plan of our salvation, upon whom [Paul], exhorting us unhesitatingly to believe, again says, "Who shall ascend into heaven? that is, to bring down Christ; or who shall descend into the deep? that is, to liberate Christ again from the dead." Then he continues, "If thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved." And he renders the reason why the Son of God did these things, saying, "For to this end Christ both lived, and died, and revived, that He might rule over the living and the dead." And again, writing to the Corinthians, he declares, "But we preach Christ Jesus crucified; "and adds, "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? " - St. Irenaeus, Against Heresies, Book III, Chapter XVIII, Section 2.

The Crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ, Mary and John and the women at the foot of the Cross

Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour, there was darkness over all the earth, until the ninth hour.

Origen tell us this darkness was only in Palestine, and the neighbouring countries: for as to the words, over the whole earth, or over the whole land, we find one kingdom or empire, by a common way of speaking, called the whole earth, or the whole world. As to the cause of the obscuration of the sun; and secondly, as to the extent of its darkness. Origen tells us that the darkness was partial, and confined to Judea and the neighbouring countries, as the darkness of Egypt was only perceived in that country, and not in Gessen, where the children of Israel were. Saint Jerome tells us that the obscurity was caused by the rays of the sun being suddenly withdrawn by divine power, as was the case in Egypt. The darkness in Egypt during the Passover of Moses was due to God's protection withdrawn from that land at that time. The darkness when Christ was Crucified for us is the judgement of God upon His Son Jesus Christ, in our place. For Jesus Christ knew NO sin. He never sinned, nor could He ever.

The meaning of the Pasch of Christians.

The Book of Wisdom, Chapter 17, describes the devils and demons thrown back upon the Egyptians when the Israelites under Moses were brought out of Egypt by God for God’s purposes (to prepare a place for the Crucifixion of Our Lord for the Redemption of the whole world of those who are saved). In the same way the same false gods and goddesses that the Egyptians served and which in so doing were the reason the Egyptians sacrificed their sons and daughters to the devils and demons behind the false gods/goddesses were the spirits that killed the Egyptian children that perished when the Israelites were brought out of Egypt. God does not murder children, period. The angel of death which destroyed in Egypt was one of the fallen spirits. God did not cause any of the fallen spirits to hurt anyone. God allowed the fallen spirits to do what it is their nature do to when He brought the Israelites out of the gates of hell which was Egypt. The children below the age of reason that died went to be with God for eternity, they will be resurrected with the just at the Second Coming of Christ. This principle of God allowing the innocent to be afflicted along with guilty finds its ultimate fulfillment in Christ’s singular and only salvific Kenosis. Jesus Christ committed no sin, not ever nor could He, and was and is and only could be utterly and absolutely and completely innocent of any and all wrongdoing and sin by His very nature as the Holy and True God. The guiltless sacrificed by His own will for the guilty. Even when the innocent are afflicted by the actions and evils instigated by the fallen spirits in the world, the innocent are not possessed by those fallen spirits. The principle of all being afflicted by the evil set loose upon the world for its unrepentant sin will occur when the universal plagues are let loose upon the world. See Apocalypse 16

The principle of our always, for our part, protecting children is given us by Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 18

1 At *that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying: Who, thinkest thou, is the greater in the kingdom of heaven?

2 *And Jesus calling unto him a little child, set him in the midst of them,

3 And said: Amen I say unto you, *unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of heaven.

5 And he that shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me.

10 Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you, *that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

The principle of our ONLY worshipping the True God, the Father and the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit is given first in the historical truth of the Garden of Eden when Christ, who is the Tree of Life commands the first man and his wife, Adam and Eve to not have anything to do with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which is Satan, the first fallen angel, nor with any of the fallen angels with Satan. Assisi of Babylon/Vatican/Rome is absolute and complete violation of that principle and is the Great Apostasy in full blown Satanic evil. Have nothing to do with the Vatican or suffer its eternal damnation in hell with it. The devil and demon worshipping pagans and the perfidious deicidal Jews are not ever any part of the Salvific action of Christ upon Golgotha/Calvary. Individual pagans and Jews if they repent of their not confessing Jesus Christ as the Immortal Son of God become flesh for our sake and sacrificed for our salvation and who confess publicly their sin of devil and demon worshipping and perfidy and deicide and who beg the Lord of all, the Lord God, the Father and the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for forgiveness of their horrid and abominable sins, can and will be forgiven if they do so now in this life and will enter into the only path of salvation there is as dictated by God Himself. The Church, all the faithful – there is no other meaning acceptable to God for the word Church, is commanded by God to not have anything to do with the Apostasy.

Book of Wisdom, Chapter 17

1 For thy judgments, O Lord, are great, and thy words cannot be expressed: therefore undisciplined souls have erred.

2 For while the wicked thought to be able to have dominion over the holy nation, they themselves being fettered with the bonds of darkness, and a long night, shut up in their houses, lay there exiled from the eternal providence.

3 And while they thought to lie hid in their obscure sins, they were scattered under a dark veil of forgetfulness, being horribly afraid and troubled with exceeding great astonishment.

4 For neither did the den that held them, keep them from fear: for noises coming down troubled them, and sad visions appearing to them, affrighted them.

5 And no power of fire could give them light, neither could the bright flames of the stars enlighten that horrible night.

6 But there appeared to them a sudden fire, very dreadful: and being struck with the fear of that face, which was not seen, they thought the things which they saw to be worse:

7 And the delusions of their magic art were put down, and their boasting of wisdom was reproachfully rebuked.

8 For they who promised to drive away fears and troubles from a sick soul, were sick themselves of a fear worthy to be laughed at.

9 For though no terrible thing disturbed them: yet being scared with the passing by of beasts, and hissing of serpents, they died for fear: and denying that they saw the air, which could by no means be avoided.

10 For whereas wickedness is fearful, it beareth witness of its condemnation: for a troubled conscience always forecasteth grievous things.

11 For fear is nothing else but a yielding up of the succours from thought.

12 And while there is less expectation from within, the greater doth it count the ignorance of that cause which bringeth the torment.

13 But they that during that night, in which nothing could be done, and which came upon them from the lowest and deepest hell, slept the same sleep.

14 Were sometimes molested with the fear of monsters, sometimes fainted away, their soul failing them: for a sudden and unlooked for fear was come upon them.

15 Moreover if any of them had fallen down, he was kept shut up in prison without irons.

16 For if any one were a husbandman, or a shepherd, or a labourer in the field, and was suddenly overtaken, he endured a necessity from which he could not fly.

17 For they were all bound together with one chain of darkness. Whether it were a whistling wind, or the melodious voice of birds, among the spreading branches of trees, or a fall of water running down with violence,

18 Or the mighty noise of stones tumbling down, or the running that could not be seen of beasts playing together, or the roaring voice of wild beasts, or a rebounding echo from the highest mountains: these things made them to swoon for fear.

19 For the whole world was enlightened with a clear light, and none were hindered in their labours.

20 But over them only was spread a heavy night, an image of that darkness which was to come upon them. But they were to themselves more grievous than the darkness.

The UN Must End Israel War Crimes

The UN Must End Israel War Crimes

000_8471aFollowing the activities of the “Annual Observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” which was held on December 1 2009 at the UN center in Vienna in which Mr. Antonio Maria Costa, the UNOV General-Director, left the room after about 20 minutes and before listening to the speech of the Palestinian representative, the statement of International Progress Organization on behalf of the network of NGOs, the League of Arab States on behalf of Mr. Amr Mousa, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organizations of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

The Israeli war crimes took the first place in the words of all the speakers. Mr. Amr Mousa called on the need of the UN and its official institutions, to carry their legal responsibilities and duties towards the war crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian civilians.

He said: “ War crimes committed by the Israeli occupying forces against Palestinian civilians should not go unaccounted for or unpunished, because they are a flagrant violation of the existing legal norms, treaties and international agreements. The United Nations and it’s specialized agencies are urged to exercise their legal responsibilities with regard to these crimes and their perpetrators.

Mr. Fritz Edlinger said: I think it’s time that the International Community accepts 2009_02_20 1044athis lesson of almost two decades more or less of useless negotiations and put much more pressure on Israel in order to fulfill obligations. As I mentioned before, equal and fair negotiations between the occupier and the victim of the occupation area contradiction per se. It is about time that especially the UN, but also Europe accept this experience. I think it’s time to go back to more international approach. The frustrating and endless bilateral negotiations should at least be complemented by an International Peace Conference under the shared responsibility of the members of the Quartet.

Here are some paragraphs from the statement of Mr. Amr Mousa, which was read by Amb. Dr. Mikhail Wehbe, and under it some paragraphs of the statement of Mr. Fritz Edlinger, Secretary General of SAAR on behalf of the IPO.

Paragraphs From the Speech of Mr. Amr Mousa

Ladies and Gentlemen,

This year the annual commemoration of International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people takes place at a time when the Palestinian people continues to be deprived of its legitimate national rights, and to endure the continued Israeli occupation of it’s territory.

The Israeli military aggression and the siege of the Gaza Strip has brought a serious deterioration of the socio-economic and environmental situation and affects the health and daily life of the Palestinian people.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The war crimes committed by the Israeli occupying forces against Palestinian civilians Amr Mousashould not go unaccounted for or unpunished, because they are a flagrant violation of the existing legal norms, treaties and international agreements. The United Nations and it’s specialized agencies are urged to exercise their legal responsibilities with regard to these crimes and their perpetrators.
The report of all investigative missions and international organizations working in the field of Human Rights, especially the Goldstone report of the Human Rights Councils fact-finding mission, the report of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry set up by the League of Arab States and headed by John Dugard, as well as the report of the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories which has recently been submitted to the General Assembly of the United Nations, confirmed the war crimes committed under the Israeli occupation.

000_8569

They also documented Israel’s targeting of Palestinian civilians used as human shields and the use of internationally banned weapons.
The reports included testimonials and factual information about violations by the Israeli army of the Fourth Geneva Convention, in particular targeting of civilians and destruction of civilian religious, health and education facilities.

000_8613

Mr. Amr Mousa said that the Arabs are unanimous in upholding the Arab Peace Initiative and in supporting international efforts towards the two-stats solution. This, in addition to backing the notion of a fair and comprehensive settlement of the Arab-Israeli conflict, based on all relevant international resolutions and of a peace process conducted within the agreed upon frame of reference.

Mr. Amr Mousa expressed his deep concern over the recent step back taken by the U.S administration on the issue of Israeli settlement which are a serious obstacle to a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Israel’s arrogant disregard for international law, including human rights law, is due to the protection and immunity it enjoys. This injustice has still not been remedied because in Security Council has been prevented from dealing with the situation in the occupied territories.

Mr. Amr Mousa said that Israel’s attitude puts us face to face our 000_8540humanitarian, legal and political responsibilities. We must take all necessary steps to ensure that any future negotiations shall be serious and based on precise obligations, backed with guarantees that Israeli will not resort to its usual stalling tactics in order to prolong the occupation and change the situation on the ground in the occupied territories, ultimately making it impossible to establish a Palestinian State.

A complete halt to settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Easy Jerusalem, and end to the unjust blockade of the Gaza Strip, the opening of the crossing points and of a humanitarian corridor to cater to the needs of the population and permit the reconstruction of Gaza are the essential points to be addressed in any meaningful and effective negotiations. Failing that, the situation will remain volatile and the region sitting on a powder keg.

000_8680The speech of Amr Mous ended by saying that the League of Arab States calls for adherence to the standards and principles which the international community enshrined in the United Nations Charter then reiterated in all resolutions relevant to the question of Palestinian and the Arab-Israeli Conflict and this, away from unbalanced politics and double standards.

The Arab League reaffirms once again that what it seeks is a genuine peace which would restore to the rightful owners their land and their right. So as to usher in a new era in the Middle East as a whole.

Paragraphs From the Speech of Mr. Fritz Edlinger

I would like to start my speech by sharing a couple of experiences I gained over the last week.

Too often we forget resp. forget to mention, that there is still 2009_02_20 1044aoccupation in Palestine, a very brutal one that has lasted 42 years. Israel is the occupying power in flagrant violation of basic parts of international law and against humanity. I just came back from Palestine a few days a go, and although I have visited Palestine at least 3-4 times a year over the last 40 years. I am still shocked at the dimensions of this occupation. The so-called security-barrier is almost totally finished, settlements are growing in all parts of the West Bank and the infrastructure for new settlements is built. And the Judaisation of Jerusalem in continuing at an accelerated speed. All these steps are in flagrant violation of international law and against countless resolutions and decisions by the UN and other international bodies.

The second fact I experienced, which is too often neglected is the 000_8693existence of millions of Palestinian refugees, who were kicked out of their homes in 1948 mostly within a fe hours. These events mark the initial-point of the national catastrophe of the Palestinian people, enshrined as Nakba in collective memory of the Palestinians. The number of appr. 800,000 deportees of 1948 increased in the meantime to almost 5 million, finding refuge in the Arab neighbor-countries and being registered and supported by the UNRWA. Israel did not just steal their land and all their properties but has been denying their right of return to their homeland for the last 62 years. Israel is not even ready to recognize the crime against humanity, which was committed in 1948, nor is it ready to offer any compensation. All these atrocities are against human rights and international law.

Mr. Edlinger said that the elimination of the Israeli occupation and their right of return are both important cornerstones of any political solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They have to be addressed and not as done during the last 16, 17 years, the years of the so called peace-process-neglected and forgotten.

000_8588

Mr. Edlinger said that the pre- condition for any lasting peace, is the internal reconciliation of the Palestinian people and by saying that I do not mean the notorious conflict between Fatah and Hamas. I also mean the increasing conflict, or better to say, alienation, between inside and outside, taking into consideration that the vast majority of the Palestinian people are still living in exile. It is extremely important to give the millions of Palestinians in the Middle East, in Europe and in America definitely more influence in the different Palestinian bodies.

As long as the Palestinians continue their internal debates and conflicts, they will play into the hands of the Israelis. In both contexts I call for much more active involvement of the International Community. The international boycott against Gaza is inhuman and the one against Hamas in counter-productive, both are at the end only in Israel’s interest.

He ended his speech by saying that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People should not just used for diplomatic events. As important as they are, they should also be used to mobilize the International Civil Society and all peace-loving and law-abiding people in the world.

000_8697

Mr. Amr Mousa called on the need of the UN and its official institutions, to carry their legal responsibilities and duties towards the war crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian civilians. He said:

UN Denigrates Solidarity With Palestine

UN Denigrates Solidarity With Palestine

Ban Ki-moons Concern and 62 Years of Nakba,

Israel Criticized Sharply at the UN in Vienna

Journalists rarely write about what is goes on in the offices of the United Nations in BanKiMoonNew York and elsewhere in the world. Rarely are the United Nations affairs discussed in public. This giant and luxurious bureaucracy surrounds itself with a veil of mystery. This Institution remains unknown to the public, and it continues to keep a veil of privacy over what goes on in their offices. A list of prohibitions control its staff. Nobody is allowed to talk, or to give any information about this institution. The United Nations press office teams, operate under these prohibitions and protocols, which are similar to the military censorship laws which I experienced in the office of the military occupation censorship in Beit Agron in Israel.

When I attended a training course in the practice of journalism at the UN Press Office in New York, under former Secretary General Kofi Annan, doing useless journalistic work and receiving a high salary from them, I understood what it means to be a journalist working at the luxurious UN offices. With this and that, I am not against the UN, but I would like to ask some questions related to the UN solidarity events with Palestinian people which I attended in Vienna on December 1 2009. “Click on pictures to make them bigger”.

* Why did the United Nations office in New York ban the President of the International Progress Organization (IPO) from participating in the “Annual Observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” in Vienna after this NGO had been participating in the event with a representative for the last 29 years here in Vienna?

* Are there logical reasons behind the dismissal of IPO? Is it due to the 000_8274aconflict between the NGOs, or is it because the representative of this NGO used references to international laws and treaties in his speech of last year, in which he denounced the war crimes of Israel, and its continuous violations of human rights and the international laws and accords?

* Are zionists and other pro-Israel conspirators inside the UN controlling which politicians are allowed to give speeches and forcing or censoring the contents of their presentations during the United Nations solidarity events and sessions of solidarity with the Palestinian People?

* Is the solidarity with the Palestinians at the UN a meaningless political show?

000_8471a* How does the United Nations explain the withdrawal of Antonio Maria Costa, the UNOV General-Director, minutes after the start of the solidarity event with the Palestinian people, even before listening to representatives of Palestine, the League of Arab States, the Non-Aligned Movement, and others during this supposed solidarity event with us Palestinians? * Is this a new joke of solidarity or is it a deliberate show of disregard to the event and the attendance, or is it part of the farce taking place in the offices of the United Nations in the absence of press and journalists?

000_8478

On December 1 2009, I participated in the “Annual Observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People”, an event which was held at the office of United Nations in Vienna. I went to the UN event with a good will as a Palestinian and a journalist who had been forced to leave her homeland by the zionists occupation in August 2002. Since I arrived in the hall where the event was held, the small number of participants in the event called my attention. Last year there had been a larger number of representatives taking part. I saw many empty places, with the names of Arab and other countries, and many empty places without names. There were no journalists representing the media in the hall. The presence of NGO’s could be counted with the fingers of one hand!!

What is wrong? I asked myself, then prepared my camera and took my right place.

The event was lead by H.E Mr. Mohd Arshad Bin Manzoor Hussain, Permanent 000_8535Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations, who opened this official part of the solidarity event. A statement of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon was read by Mr. Antonio Maria Costa, Director-General of the United Nations office in Vienna, and then H. E. Dr. Friedrich Stift, representative of Austria as the host country, read a brief. Mr. Costa left the event immediately after this brief, before the representatives of Palestine, Arab countries or NGOs could deliver their statements.

Signs of resentment and discontent were clear on the faces of participants in the event. The statement of the Non-Aligned Movement was read by Ms. Norma Goicochea Estenoz, permanent representative of Cuba, on behalf of the permanent representative of Egypt and the representative of the Chairman of NAM. I saw signs of discontent seemed clear on the face of the Cuban ambassador with the departure of Ambassador Antonio Costa, and his not listening to the speech.

25 feb 1079a

The departure of Mr. Antonio Maria Costa from the solidarity event, immediately after reading the speech of Ban Ki-moon, was a clear gesture of disregard towards all the attendees, speakers, the event, and the solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The act of Mr. Antonio Maria Costa was not acceptable to the attendants. The issue of Palestine, and this solidarity event, are not a show in the theater, or a crooked press release from the press office of the UN.

I think that Mr. Antonio Maria Costa would have stayed a whole day and night without a murmur if the solidarity event had been with the “State of Israel”, this zionist institution which has obviously subverted and occupied the offices of the United Nations in the same way as they are occupying Palestine.

The issue of Palestine does not deserve the disdain and disregard ostentatiously put to display by Mr. Costa, and which is shown by all United Nations organizations, whose representatives obviously could not care less about the continued and grave violation of many Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, the continuous violation of the international law, of international humanitarian laws and accords, by the zionist Israeli occupation.

Yesterday, Prof. Dr. Hans Koechler, President of the International Progress Organization (IPO), an international NGO associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information, sent me an e-mail in which he said that it is the responsibility of the Arab member states of the United Nations to find out why the UN administration has decided not to inform or invite the media as well as international non-governmental organizations. The E-mail of Mr. Koechler is quoted below.

Vienna, 3 December 2009
P/RE/22012

Dear Ms. Salam,

We have received your news releases re. this year’s event on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

It is worthy to note that this year, for the first time since the year 1980 25 feb 1329(!), the United Nations Office did not send either an invitation or notification about the event. We actually thought that the event had been cancelled or that the tradition of Palestine Day commemoration might have been discontinued by the UN.

It is the responsibility of the Arab member states of the United Nations to find out why the UN administration has decided not to inform or invite the media as well as international non-governmental organizations.

Since 1980, the International Progress Organization has delivered the speech on behalf of international NGOs accredited at the United Nations at least half a dozen times, at the New York headquarters as well as in Vienna. It requires an explanation why the UN administration suddenly has fallen silent and has cut co-operation with NGOs in this matter.

With best regards

In reply to Prof. Dr. Hans Kochler, it should be noted that I called Mr. Lothar 000_8576Mikulla, an associate information officer at United Nations Information Service (UNIS) on17 November 2009, about quarter to 12, to ask him why he did not answer to my e-mail about the “Annual Observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” dated November 15, 2009 which I sent to his office on that day at 2:34:50 PM. I told Mr. Lothar that many readers asked about this event, the date, and how they could take part in the event of solidarity with Palestinians. I asked him why the United Nations had not posted this information on their website as usual, in 2008 and the years before. In 2008, the UNIS published an invitation to this event on their website. The invitation was seen and read at the UN web on November 6 2008.

un 2008

I asked Mr. Mikulla if the United Nations solidarity event with the Palestinian unnuPeople had been turned into a secret in this year 2009. I asked him if the United Nations forbids the Palestinians themselves, pro-Palestinian persons, interested people and NGOs in Vienna from the participation in this solidarity event with the Palestinian people, and whether their activities take place only between the UN team and specific politicians who are not in any way linked to Palestine and to the Palestinian cause.

I also told him that I would report about their “solidarity” event and post my reports to the UN headquarter in New York. Mr. Mikulla was not happy to hear my questions. He was polite and a bit more friendly after I told him that I am a journalist, but he had no specific answers. Readers-Statistic (2)He stated that the exact day of the event was delayed from Nov. 29 2009 to Dec. 1 2009 and that the Embassy of Palestine is in charge of distributing the invitations to the solidarity event of this year. Mr. Mikulla did not answer my questions, and he stayed evasive throughout the conversation. He said that he didn’t have answers and that he would answer to my e-mail when “the persons who are in charge of the event in the United Nations” gave him further information about that. I have received nothing from him or anybody else until today.

I called the Palestinian Ambassador, Dr. Zuheir Elwazer, and I asked him more questions. He stated that the event had been delayed until Dec. 1 2009, because 29 December was on a weekend, and 28 December is Eid Al-Adha. He said that the Palestinian Embassy had distributed 350 invitation, but that the NGOs were to be invited by the United Nations.

Dr. Elwazer stated that the participation of IPO had been excluded by 000_8488the UN office in New York, who intervened via phone so that the speech for the NGOs should be held by Mr. Fritz Edlinger instead. He added: “according to what Mr. Fritz Edlinger said, the NGO office at the UN in New York called and invited him the give the speech of the NGOs at the solidarity event for Palestine. Mr. Edlinger himself received his invitation very late from the UN office in Vienna. We were obliged to call the UN office to remind them to send Mr. Edlinger the invitation, we left them a message on the answering machine. Mr. Edlinger received the invitation only 24 hours before the event”.

Other people also said that they received the invitation to the solidarity event from the Palestinian Embassy very late. Among them was somebody who expressed his anger, he said “the Embassy should know that we are not jobless so that we can participate in the event without organizing our appointments. At least we should receive the invitation two weeks before the event”.

During the Palestine solidarity event itself, Mr. Fritz Edlinger gave an a wonderful interesting and emotional speech based on the facts on the ground in Palestine. His speech moved everybody. Edlinger is well known among the Palestinian and Arab communities in Vienna, he is seen as very pro-Palestine and he does more than the Palestinian themselves for the Palestinian cause. Note: I will publish the speech of Mr. Edlinger as soon as possible.

000_8588

Prof. Dr. Hans Koechler is also an excellent speaker on the Palestine issue. He understands the international laws, accords and treaties, furthermore he knows what is going on in the kitchen of UN, in the EU, and with other political groups related to Palestine. The speeches and opinions of Prof. Dr. Koechler are very special and based on international laws. He exposed the scandalous violations of the international laws and double standards of the European politicians and the UN with their silence about the violations of Israel of all laws and peace agreements which have been signed under the observance of the international community, which continue supporting the genocide and the crimes of Israel in Palestine.

During the previous UN solidarity event with Palestinians held on Nov. 27 2008, Prof. Dr. Koechler gave an excellent speech, which made the representatives of 25 feb 1360some countries unhappy, especially those who support Israel and who participated in the solidarity event to whine that the Palestinian resistance uses stones and describes them as “terrorists”. The strong speech of Prof. Dr. Koechler, in which he exposed the western politicians and the Israeli war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank, shocked the puppets of Israel present at the event and made them very angry. This must be the reason behind banning Prof. Dr. Koechler from the solidarity event of this year. The friends of Israel in the headquarter of the UN have influence over everybody. Read the speech of Prof. Dr. Hans Koechler, which ended his participation at the UN solidarity event with Palestinians.

The approaches of Mr. Koechler and Mr. Edlinger to the Palestinian issue are very different. While Mr. Edlinger has an emotional and personal approach to the issue, Mr. Koechler sees it more from the point of view of laws and treaties, of the framework of international law. Both approaches to our issue are valid and must be recognized and respected, and we Palestinians are certainly grateful to all persons and organizations of all religions and nationalities who have selflessly engaged in our defense.

000_8806

That the UN would exclude the IPO from the Palestine Solidarity event of this year, apparently because of the protest of the zionists, can only be qualified as unacceptable behavior.

How can the UN, which supposedly has a peace mission, engage in discrimination between supporters of a just peace for Palestinians?

The UN has already done enough damage through its irresponsible handling of the issue over decades, and the exclusion of an NGO from a UN event just because perpetrators do not like to be reminded of laws sanctioning their crimes is certainly not what one would expect from an organization which supposedly serves as a forum for all nations and supposedly holds up certain laws and treaties regarding how nations are supposed to behave.

Gabriela ShalevFollowing the Issue of “Annual Observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” of 2008 at the UN in Vienna, I found that Gabriela Shalev, who received her post as Israel ambassador to the UN on 3 September 2008, sent a protest against the speeches of the participants and the Petition for Palestine which I directed to the UN Secretary General and handed at that time to Mr. Costa and other diplomats who participated in the event last year of 2008 in Vienna.

QUESTION Mark: Why has the UN not posted any information about the event “Annual 000_8491Observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” in Vienna on it’s own home page, like they did last year?

Why did the UN not invite journalists to this important occasion? Why the Director General of UNIV leave the session of solidarity before hearing the various statements on the Palestinian issue?

Why did the press office of the UN in Vienna not post, either fully or in part, the messages of the various speaker, among them Ban Ki-moon and the ambassadors of several countries, on their website?

I wonder, if the meeting had been about “solidarity with Israel”, would the director general of the UNOVm Mr. Antonio Maria Costa have dared to leave the meeting before hearing the unending wailing and whining of Israel and their friends?

Do the United Nations fear the wrath of somebody or some country if they did that? Who are the countries or groups or persons who they fear?

2009 Must Be the Year in which the Preparations Bear Fruit“, said the BanKiMoonUnited Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in his message, read on his behalf by Mr. Antonio Maria Costa on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People which was held last year in November. The year 2009 has nearly ended. Today is December 1 2009, but the Palestinians did not reap the fruits mentioned by Mr. Ban Ki-moon in his speech last year.

The only fruits which the Palestinians reaped were a whole series of war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip in addition, to the further genocide in the West Bank, the expansion of squatter colonies everywhere in occupied Jerusalem and in all the Palestinian towns and cities, continuous violations of human rights, the building the Apartheid Wall which has swallowed almost half of the Palestinian agricultural lands and turned their life into a catastrophe.

000_8547

Furthermore, the zionist invaders and their entity have reneged from all peace agreements signed with the Palestinian National Authority. This is the reality of the zionist “state” of Israel, which pollutes the international community and its forum, the UN, while everybody believes their false promises, their blatant lies.

A NEW message from Mr. Ban Ki-moon was read yesterday by Mr. Antonio Maria Costa on the same occasion of “Annual Day of Observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People”.

His UN message was bland, showing that he obviously had no full understanding or respect for either the rights of the Palestinian people, or the responsibility of the UN as an institution, for the crimes of Israel. The contents and the language of his UN message which I heard yesterday is not the same language of the UN which is delivered when another country violates its resolutions or commits war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity.

We Palestinians are all frustrated with evasive language and the double 000_8488standards of the UN Security Council in dealing with their own resolutions 181, 242, 383 related to the Israeli occupation and peace in the Middle East. The bland and servile words of the SG will not put an end to the cancer which is the Israeli occupation for the Palestinian territories and the Palestinian nation in the 62 years of “Nakba”, since 1948.

Mr. Ban Ki Moon “calls” and “is concerned” and uses other bland and obsequious words towards the zionist criminals, what only shows how the UN and their “Security Council” are powerless to end the Israeli occupation and their daily crimes on all levels. The most important conclusion of the speech read on behalf of Mr. Ban Ki Moon is the increasing meaninglessness of the UN as a forum of the nations of the world, as a fair instance to solve conflicts and to make international law respected.

Here are Some Paragraphs From the Speech of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as delivered on December 1 2009 at the UN in Vienna, read on his behalf by the Mr. Antonio Maria Costa.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The question is as fundamental today as it was sixty-two years ago, when the General Assembly, in resolution 181, put forth a vision of two States. Today, the State of Israel exists, but the State of Palestine does not. The Palestinian people continue to struggle for their inalienable right of self-determination – a fundamental, universal human right enjoyed by so many others across the world.

000_8526

The international community continues to assist and protect the Palestinian people, including through the work of the UN agencies, UNRWA foremost among them. However, our interventions must not be limited to managing the humanitarian dimension of this conflict. What is urgently needed is a political solution that addresses the root of the conflict.

It is vital that a sovereign State of Palestine is achieved. This should be on the basis of the 1967 Lines with agreed land swaps and a just and agreed solution to the refugee issue, a state lives side-by-side in peace with Israel within secure and recognized borders, as envisaged in the resolutions of the Security Council. I welcome the commitment of Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Abbas to a two State solution.

At the same time, I am deeply concerned that talks between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization have been suspended for almost a year.

A comment: I think that President Abass stated in his speech that, after all these presidentyears of negotiations with Israel, the Palestinians have not seen results. So why is Mr. Ban Ki Moon “concerned about losing time in useless negotiations while the only solution is to implement the UN security council resolution 181″. (He breaks my heart with his sobful “concern”). I would appreciate if Mr. Ban Ki Moon stops regretting about that and uses his power to end the 62 years of Nakba. Or does Mr. Secretary General want us to wait for other 62 years of “negotiations” with the fraud which is the “State of Israel”?

It would be better if Mr. Ban ki Moon abandon this lachrimose declamatory style and checks up to the international laws which the very institution he heads are supposed to keep up, in regards to that criminal monstrosity which the UN created with Resolution 181. I doubt very much that Mr. Secretary General would find much reason to continue accepting Israel as a member of his institution, or even to recognize it as a state.

All the contrived “concerns” of Mr. Banki Moon will not give one cent DSC_0105cto my brother who is without income since 4 years because of the Israeli economic strangulation of the West Bank, and will not allow my ageing mother to go to the Queen Augusta Victoria hospital in Jerusalem. All the “concerns” and “calls” and crocodile tears of Mr. Banki Moon will not take away the pain of my seven years (and counting) of exile, and they will certainly not help me to return to my home in Hebron, they will not help me and hundreds of thousands of fellow Palestinians get damage payments from the jews, they will not help to get the Israeli criminals into jail.

As things stand, the UN is more and more reducing itself to a politically meaningless institution which offers the world no utility at all in return for the inflated salaries of its employees, while its officials, from Mr. Banki Moon downwards, more and more look like people wearing clothes three sizes bigger than they are, as their performance simply does not match what is expected from them.

Sadly, everybody is waiting for Mr. Ban Ki Moon to show some strength and act according to the UN Charter and other relevant international laws and treaties, instead of by the criminal agenda of the corruptionists from the US and Israel. I hope that he finds some strength before everybody wakes up to disillusion about the reality which he is creating with his lackadaisical “concern”.

I support the clear commitment and continuing efforts of the United States to bring about a resumption of meaningful negotiations on all final status issues, including the security of Israelis and Palestinians, borders, refugees and Jerusalem. The biggest challenge to this shared agenda is to the conditions in which the parties have the trust and confidence to return to genuine and substantive talk.

000_8499

On the Palestinian side, the Palestinian Authority has made significant progress in meeting its Roadmap obligations in the West Bank, and in building institutions to serve the Palestinian people. I call on all Palestinians to fight violent extremism and to refrain institutions. These efforts have resulted in economic and security improvements, which should be sustained and extended. I welcome initials steps taken by Israel to contribute to these positive trends, and call on Israel authorities to expand these measures so that change can become truly transformative.

I am deeply concerned that, in East Jerusalem and the remainder 000_8619of the West Bank, illegal settlement construction continues. I have noted Prime Minister Netanyahu’s recent announcement of settlement restraint. While this is a step beyond earlier positions, it falls short of Israel’s obligations under the Roadmap, particularly given the exclusion of East Jerusalem. I repeat my call on Israel to meet in full its Roadmap commitments to freeze all settlement activity, including “natural growth:, and to dismantle outposts erected since March 2001.

In addition, the barrier continues to restrict Palestinian access to key social services, agricultural land and East Jerusalem, As you will recall, the International Court of Justice has stated that the barrier’s deviation from the 1967 line into occupied Palestinian territory is contrary to International law.

I am also concerned about the situation in Jerusalem, Actions such as the evictions of Palestinians and house demolitions, as well as the continued closure of Palestinian institutions in occupied East Jerusalem, run contrary to Israel’s Roadmap obligations. I call on Israel to cease such actions in East Jerusalem, which stoke tensions, cause suffering and further undermine trust, and to reopen Palestinian institutions.

jer

I reiterate my belief that Jerusalem remains a final status issue to be negotiated between the parties. As the Quartet has previously stated, unilateral actions cannot prejudge the outcome of negotiations, and will not be recognized by the International community. Jerusalem should emerge as the capital of two States, with arrangements for the holy sites acceptable to all. We should all want to see Jerusalem as a s symbol of harmony, tolerance and peace.

The crises in Gaza is also in urgent need of resolution. With the arrival of inclement winter weather, the humanitarian situation remains very troubling. The closure of Gaza should be lifted, consistent with Security Council resolution 1860, to allow for the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid, commercial goods and people. Consistent with this same resolution, efforts must also be made to address Israel’s legitimate security concern. This should include mechanisms to prevent the smuggling of weapons into Gaza and an end to Palestinian rocket fire at Israeli civilians.

Ten months after the end of hostilities in Gaza and southern Israel, the issue of 000_8683accountability for violations of International humanitarian and human rights law has not been adequately addressed. I call on both Israel and the relevant Palestinian authorities to conduct, without delay, credible domestic investigations into the many reported allegations of serious human rights violations. The reunification of Gaza and the West Bank is also essential. There can be no two State solution without a unified Palestinian territory. I support Egypt’s efforts in this regard, grounded in Arab League resolutions and supported by Security Council resolution 1860.

Here is the Speech of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as delivered on Nov. 29 2008 at the UN in Vienna, read on his behalf by the Mr. Antonio Maria Costa.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon: “2009 Must Be the Year That the Preparations Bear Fruit”

Message on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, 29 November 2008

25-feb-1123IENNA, 29 November (UN Information Service) – The Palestinians have been deprived of their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination and statehood, for more than 60 years. Israelis live with an ever-present sense of insecurity. There is only one way to address such legitimate rights and fears: a peace agreement that results in an end of occupation, an end of conflict, and the creation of a State of Palestine living side-by-side in peace with the State of Israel.

The Israeli and Palestinian leaders re-launched bilateral negotiations a year ago at Annapolis. They agreed to try to reach a peace treaty by the end of 2008. I regret that this goal appears unlikely to be achieved. However, the parties have succeeded in creating trust and a framework where none existed only two years ago. We must not diminish that achievement. I commend the commitment made by President Abbas and Foreign Minister Livni at Sharm el-Sheikh earlier this month to continue talks into next year, and to seek a full and final settlement. This process must resolve the 25-feb-13101permanent status issues of Jerusalem, settlements, borders, refugees, security and water.

My biggest concern in the immediate period ahead is the situation on the ground. I strongly call on Israel to cease settlement activity, remove outposts, open Palestinian institutions in East Jerusalem, and refrain from unilateral actions in Jerusalem, such as demolitions and evictions, which alter the status quo. I recognize Israel’s security concerns. But the improved environment of security cooperation must lead to an easing of closure in the West Bank, in order to increase stability and to bring about a much-needed boost to the Palestinian economy.

The situation in the Gaza Strip also remains of major concern. I call for immediate 25-feb-1313measures to ease the near-blanket closure of Gaza, which leads to worrying deprivations of basic supplies and undermines human dignity. And I unreservedly condemn rocket fire. The way forward is for all parties to respect the calm brokered by Egypt. I call on Israel to allow sufficient and predictable supplies to reach the population, to ensure access for humanitarian workers, and to facilitate stalled UN projects. I also call on Hamas and, indeed, all Palestinian factions to work urgently to reunify the Gaza Strip and the West Bank within the framework of the legitimate Palestinian Authority.

We have seen many difficulties in the past year. But it has been a crucial time in setting the stage for peace. Two thousand nine must be the year that these preparations bear fruit. Let us all work constructively, tirelessly and consistently for a just, lasting, comprehensive, and urgent settlement of the question of Palestine.

Israel Criticized Sharply at the UN in Vienna

Note: I will publish the other speeches given during the event in follow-up articles.

Tuesday, 1 December 2009 at 4 PM: “The Israeli government has taken a position in presidentcomplete denial and retreat from all of the commitments that had reached with previous Israeli governments, There is also serious acceleration of the settlements policies and attempts to judaize Jerusalem through the eviction and suffocation of it’s indigenous population, encircling their neighborhood with settlements in a flagrant threat to the Arab identity of the city and its Christian and Muslim sites”, said the Chairman of the Executive Committee of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas in his speech, which was read by Dr. Zuheir Elwazer, Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations, on occasion of Annual Day of Observance of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which was held at the United Nations in Vienna.

000_8546

President Mahmoud Abbas sharply criticized the current Israeli government, saying that the PA would not accept the concept of the negotiation of the current Israeli government, in which “they can do whatever they wish on the ground and that we can talk whatever we want at the negotiation table”.

President Abbas confirmed in his speech that after all these years of negotiations with Israel, the Palestinians have not seen results.

He demanded from the international community, particularly from the UN Security council, to shoulder it’s responsibilities and to take immediate and decisive action that reflects the positions of the countries of the world, which have repeatedly called for the two-State solution and an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967, in order to bring an end to this conflict and give credibility to the Charter of the United Nations and it’s resolutions.

Anyone hearing the speech of President Abbas read at the Annual Observance of 000_8664the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinians of 2009, and who compared it with his speech read last year 2008 during the same occasion in the United Nations, in which he talked about “peace and negotiations as a strategic way of the PA”, could understand that only horrible things could have forced President Abbas to deliver his speech, which indicates the frustration experienced by the Palestinian Authority due to the Israeli intransigence. It also points implicitly to the US policy of supporting Israel no matter what, while Israel reneged on all its promises and agreements with the Palestinian National Authority. “click on the pictures to make them bigger”

As a Palestinian, I find the management of the whole event by the UNOV disappointing. They not only obfuscated the publication of the event on their website, but also did not invite any journalists whatsoever to the event, and, the UN press office did not answer to my requests to be included in the event. On top of that, the director of UNOV left the event after the introduction, just like the ambassador of Saudi-Arabia.

Here are Some Paragraphs From the Speech of President Abbas:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

On all the issues and problems that have faced the international 000_8682community, only the question of Palestine has not gained the implementation of the resolutions related to it. Which confirm the conviction that there is indeed a double-standard when it comes to United Nations resolutions, wherein any resolution regarding Israel is not implemented, allowing Israel to continue to behave as though it were above international.

It has been sixty-one years since the 1948 Al-Nakba that befell our people, who to this day live either as refugees in camps in their homeland or in neighboring countries or in the Diaspora or continue to suffer under colonial occupation. They have lived under occupation since 1967, as all initiatives and negotiations undertaken with the Israeli side since the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993 have not yielded the results envisaged or hoped for by the international community, namely an end to the Israeli occupation and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Throughout all of these years of the peace process negotiations, Israel 000_8601has never ceased it’s settlement campaign, arrests, aggression and attacks against the Palestinian people, the latest of which was carried out in Gaza Strip, during which war crimes were committed against the Palestinian people and their national institutions and infrastructure, as documented in the report of Justice Goldstone.

It has also gone as far as endangering Al-Aqsa Mosque by the excavations being undertaken beneath it and around it and all allowing the extremist Jews to invade it’s compound and surroundings, which threaten to expand the conflict to a dangerous religious dimension.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is time, after all of these years of negotiations that have not yielded 000_8455results, for the international community, particularly from the UN Security council, to shoulder it’s responsibilities and to take immediate and decisive action that reflects the positions of the countries of the world, which have repeatedly called for the two-State solution and an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967, in order to bring an end to this conflict and give credibility to the Charter of the United Nations and it’s resolutions.
